Summary spoilers for the whole series

A short, balding Alethi noble in service to Brightlord Ruthar, cousin to Relis. He holds Shardplate but no Blade, and Relis gave him the Plate. He is rated a passable duelist. When Relis refuses Adolin's challenge, Elit accepts it, fights in the king's slate Plate with a hammer, and loses.

  3. Adolin breaks Elit's breastplate and Kaladin strikes his chest; Elit yields, forfeits his Plate and limps off. source
