Summary spoilers for the whole series

A semi-sentient Cognitive shadow and Splinter of the Almighty, formed from the shadow of the god and the older spren known as the Rider of Storms. He embodies the highstorms and calls himself both spren and god. He survived the Recreance and, at the end of Words of Radiance, bonds Dalinar, who becomes a Bondsmith.

  1. Dalinar asks the Stormfather whether he is the Almighty or a Herald; he denies both, calls himself spren and god, and warns of a storm that will carry away the Alethi dead. source
  2. The Stormfather bonds Dalinar, granting him Bondsmith powers, and requires him to give up the Shardblade he holds. source
