Summary spoilers for the whole series
A range of high mountains inside Jah Keved yet apparently independent of it, home to the red-haired Unkalaki. Villages cluster by steam and lava vents, and each summit holds a warm lake the Horneaters revere as water of life. The rock is untainted slate. Later a perpendicularity there and reports of ships failing to arrive suggest something is wrong.
