Mala Fire-Bringer

The sun goddess of Erilea, worshipped as the Lady of Light, Learning and Fire, and sister and rival to Deanna. She bound herself into mortal form to be Brannon Galathynius's mate and mother of Elena, then gave up that life to become the Lock that seals the wyrdkeys. Her fire gift passes down to Aelin, and she dies when the gods are trapped in the Valg world.

5. Terrasen's royal family is slaughtered and the gods choose that moment to reform Elena to aid Aelin. source

1. Mala gives Aelin another portion of her power as Aelin and Dorian re-forge the Lock. source
2. Aelin forces all the gods, Mala among them, into the Valg world. source
