Chaol and Nesryn travel to the Southern Continent to seek allies and a cure for his injury. In Antica, Yrene heals him through painful sessions while Valg agents stalk the Torre library. Nesryn flies with Sartaq into the mountains, where an old evil and Maeve's history come to light.
