Maximus is the younger brother of Black Bolt and a prince of Attilan, the Inhuman city on the Moon. Terrigenesis left him an ordinary human, which barred him from the throne. He seized power in a coup, exiled the royal family to Earth, and hunted them. He sought a second Terrigenesis, and when Black Bolt returned, a failing dome and a confession left him sealed in a bunker.
