Logan, living as a hermit in the Canadian wilderness after killing Jean Grey, is brought to Japan by Yukio to see Ichiro Yashida, a man he saved at Nagasaki. Yashida wants Logan's immortality, and a plot around the Yashida family leaves Wolverine fighting the Silver Samurai while his healing fails.
