Prime

A genetically engineered Human hybrid, raised by a Ferengi con artist and then sold into slavery in the Tars Lamora mines. In 2383 he escaped aboard the Protostar with a ragged crew, was cleared by Admiral Janeway, and later served as acting first officer of the training ship Prodigy.

1. 2383 Dal slips out of the Tars Lamora mine and escapes aboard the Protostar with Zero, Rok-Tahk, Jankom Pog, Murf and Gwyn. source
2. 2383 The Protostar crew reach Federation space and end up before a Starfleet tribunal at Earth, where Janeway gets charges dropped. source
