Starfleet officer, father of James T. Kirk and Sam Kirk. He became the youngest first officer on record, and his Zeta Reticuli heroism was buried by Captain Reeger, who then stalled his career. He lived at least until his son took command of the Enterprise in 2265.

Kelvin

First officer of the USS Kelvin, who took command for twelve minutes during the Narada attack in January 2233. He drove the Kelvin into the Narada to save about eight hundred people, including his wife Winona and newborn son James, and died as his son was born.
