Bajoran wormhole

The only known stable wormhole in the galaxy, home of the Prophets and called the Celestial Temple by Bajorans. It links the Bajoran system to the Gamma Quadrant, was found by Sisko and Dax in 2369, and became central to the Dominion War before closing briefly in 2374 and reopening in 2375.

  2. 2370 A runabout carries Kira and Bashir through it to a parallel universe and back. source
  3. 2371 A silithium comet is shielded, leaving a subspace filament that allows communication through the wormhole. source
  4. 2373 An attempt to seal it fails and instead stabilises it, so Dominion fleets enter the Alpha Quadrant. source
  5. 2374 Starfleet mines the passage; a Dominion fleet is destroyed by the Prophets. source
  6. 2374 Dukat's attack on the Orb of Contemplation makes the wormhole vanish. source
  7. 2375 Reopens after Sisko recovers the Orb of the Emissary on Tyree. source
