A young assassin trained in Arobynn Hamel's guild alongside Celaena Sardothien, whom he had known since childhood. Their mission to Skull's Bay turned rivalry into friendship and then love. After the pair bought their freedom from Arobynn and planned to leave the continent, Sam was tortured and killed, and Celaena was sent to Endovier.
