Cinematic

Jane Foster is an Earth astrophysicist who met Thor in New Mexico in 2010 and worked with S.H.I.E.L.D. on Asgardian science. In 2013 she became host to the Aether, was taken to Asgard and then to Svartalfheim, and helped stop Malekith at Greenwich. Diagnosed with cancer in 2025, she took up Mjolnir in New Asgard as the Mighty Thor, fought Gorr, and died that autumn.

Comics

An American nurse and later physician who worked for Donald Blake, the mortal guise of Thor, and became entangled in his adventures. Odin briefly made her Asgardian, and Sif's life-force once saved her. Years later, with breast cancer, she took up Mjolnir as the new Thor, sacrificed herself against Mangog, and was revived. After the War of the Realms she became the Valkyrie, wielding the vambrace Undrjarn.
