Q
A godlike member of the Q Continuum who tests Humanity across two centuries. He tried humanity at Farpoint in 2364, threw the Enterprise-D into the Borg in 2365, lived briefly as a Human in 2366, fathered Q Junior with Voyager's help, and in 2401 spent his fading powers reshaping history to help Picard. He appears to Jack Crusher in 2402.

- 2261 Q arrives at the Enterprise wedding that his child Trelane staged, scolds Trelane and apologises to the crew.
- 2364 Q puts Humanity on trial aboard the Enterprise-D and sends the ship to Farpoint Station as the test.
- 2365 Q flings the Enterprise-D far across space into the path of a Borg cube, then helps it escape when Picard asks.
- 2366 The Continuum strips Q of his powers and he lives as a Human aboard the Enterprise until another Q restores him.
- 2369 Q follows Vash to Deep Space 9 and briefly spars with Sisko.
- 2370 Q resumes Humanity's trial and sends Picard through three eras to close an anti-time eruption in the Devron system.
- 2372 Q represents the Continuum at the asylum hearing for Quinn aboard Voyager.
- 2380 Q appears repeatedly to the crew of the Cerritos, challenging them with chess and other games.
- 2401 Q, dying, saves Picard from the Stargazer's destruction and alters the 2024 Europa Mission to create a false timeline, then uses his last power to restore it and send the crew home.
- 2402 Q appears to Jack Crusher aboard the Enterprise-G and tells him his trial has begun.
