Prime

A Cardassian tailor on Deep Space 9 who was formerly an Obsidian Order agent and the secret son of its chief, Enabran Tain. Exiled from Cardassia in 2368, he built a shop on the station, befriended Julian Bashir and Odo, and worked for Starfleet in the Dominion War before helping lead the Cardassian uprising in 2375.

  1. 2368 After betraying Tain, Garak escapes an order for his death and is exiled from Cardassia to Terok Nor. source
  2. 2369 After the Cardassian withdrawal he opens a tailor shop on the station, now Deep Space 9. source
  3. 2371 Garak rejoins Tain on a joint Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar fleet sent to destroy the Founders' homeworld; the Dominion destroys it and he escapes aboard the Defiant. source
  4. 2372 Garak returns to the Gamma Quadrant on the Defiant and tries to destroy the Great Link with quantum torpedoes, but Worf stops him and he is jailed on the station for six months. source
  5. 2373 Garak and Worf are imprisoned at a Dominion internment camp where Tain dies and acknowledges him as his son; Garak helps the prisoners escape. source
  6. 2374 Garak has Romulan senator Vreenak killed and blames the Dominion, bringing the Romulans into the war. source
  7. 2375 Garak helps Damar's Cardassian Liberation Front rise on Cardassia and takes part in the storming of Dominion headquarters, ending his exile. source
