A demilitarized zone between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire in the Beta Quadrant, set by treaty after the Earth-Romulan War and redefined at Algeron in 2311. Crossing it was an act of war. Earth outposts watched it. It collapsed after the evacuation tied to the Romulan supernova, and the border later followed its line.
